Activities

Trulle tries to take the "i" out of sea kayaking. Anyway, paddling alone is no fun

Wednesday paddling

Every Wednesday evening, we try to organize a short paddling trip from the boathouse. These events are generally led by an activity leader, so it is not required to have any previous experience to join. However, for safety reasons, weather conditions or a lack of available activity leaders may restrict who can join the trips. In such scenarios, participation may require that you have taken the basic course (i.e., have a Våttkort). Planned Wednesday paddling sessions are posted in our Spond group with additional info. Please be aware that drysuits are recommended year-round in Tromsø (rent drysuits through our shop), and that lights on people and kayaks are necessary in the darker months. Wednesday paddling is often not organized during the polar night season, as the weather can be unpredictable.

See our Spond group for each week’s event and theme

Weather very much depending , always check before you leave!

Tromsø Havpadleklubb- Torsdagspaddling

Tromsø Havpadleklubb (THPK) is the “non-student” kayaking club in Tromsø. A very large and active group, with its boathouse right next to ours at Sjølund! Every Thursday evening, they meet for a social paddle. You do not need to be a member of their club to join in on these paddles.

 Dugnad

Yes, Dugnads (a fantastic untranslatable Norwegian word for a volunteer effort) happen for Trulle too. We have a dugnad one evening every semester to clean up the boathouse, fix kayaks, take inventory, and other general tasks. If you like Trulle´s offer of nearly free unlimited sea kayaking, you should show up for the dugnad. You might even meet a fellow paddler.

As with any other event, Dugnad events are posted in our Spond group.

Social Activities and Trips

Social activities in Trulle include Freskluft every August, A spring kick-off party at the boathouse, beach cleaning day, and, sometimes, overnighting trips. We will post additional activities and trips as they are created. If you are interested in planning a trip and want / need a paddling partner please post on our Spond group or contact the Trulle Board for larger ideas. We are always looking for people to help plan and execute paddling adventures! Until then, stay tuned for more events on this website and in our Spond group!
