TSI Trulle is a subgroup of the Tromsø Students’ Sports Association (TSI), and offers a social environment and necessary equipment for the sea paddling students of Tromsø. 

The English pages are somewhat limited, but here follows the most important information:

 Our "home base" is by the shores of Sjølund, at the west coast of the island of Tromsø (by the way, did you know that the letter "ø" in Tromsø means "island"?).

To become a member, there are two (2) fees that has to be paid:

  • one to our mother organisation, TSI, and
  • one directly to TSI Trulle.

The fee for TSI is paid at Kraft, the students’ sports centre, just above the university campus.

For the autumn of 2009, the sum is 100,- per semester (if you are already a member of Kraft, there is no additional fee, but you need to register as a TSI Trulle member with the desk clerk at Kraft!).

Then, you also need to register with TSI Trulle, but this is plain and simple, and may be done within half a minute from now, by filling out this form! You will then receive a membership invoice in your mailbox (real mail, not e-mail) a few days later, with your name, membership number and relevant payment info on it. The membership fee for TSI Trulle is at the moment 200,- per semester.

This means that the total membership cost is 300,- per semester! Beat that! Cool

Now, what do you get for this vast amount of money you ask?

– Well, just about anything that you need to take your trips around the fjords, beaches and high waves that surrounds our magnificent island.

TSI Trulle presently owns a total of 12 kayaks (but houses a lot more, privately owned kayaks – NOT FOR USE BY OTHER MEMBERS!), and of course the necessary equipment for handling these kayaks, such as paddles, life-jackets, splash protectors, and even a couple of dry-suits and a trailer for transportation! (For the two latter, the board must be notified in advance!)

TSI Trulle also arranges courses for beginners, so for those interested, please follow the updates on our website for time and dates! Note, as we unfortunately cannot provide unlimited courses, it pays to sign up as quickly as possible!

There also is the "wednesday padling" - which is not a course, but trip together with an experienced paddler every wednesday at 18.00 from the boat house (in May, early June, late August and September). Some times the trip get canceled for various reasons so look out for the word "Onsdagspadling avlyst" on the posts on this page.
